The Forbes family has already been cultivating grapes for some of the very famous Australian wine-growing companies in the Murray Darling region before setting up its own company in 1999, and subsequently began to market their first wine under the name Zilzie. Their authentic and bright wines soon became a great success and Selection 23 was introduced in 2004. Five years later, Zilzie Regional Collection began selling a selection of specially selected wines from Australia’s best wine growing regions: Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon from Terrarosa Grounds in Coonawarra, Chardonnay from Yarra’s oldest wine-growing region Valley and Pinot Noir from the cool Adelaide Hills.

In this way, Zilzie developed within a few years to become one of Australia’s most successful young wine-growing companies, which has received many awards and became the only vineyard in the region by the leading Australian wine critic James Halliday in his 2009 Wine Companion with 4.5 stars appreciated.

In addition, under the leadership of the next generation, the brothers Steven and Andrew Forbes will continue to focus on the family and love for the region in the future.
