RIEUTORT GASCOGNE
Les Hauts de Montrouge winery is located in Nogaro in the Gers Region (South West of France). Established in 1963, it unites 60 farmers wine growers following the very best winemaking tradition over a vineyard of above 900 hectares.
Land of D’Artagnan, the Gascony country offers a sandy soil to the vines of the hills of Nogaro. This unique terroir gives the Côtes de Gascogne grapes a strong personality and a specificity famous to all lovers of wines and spirits from South West of France.
The wine growers cultivate the noble and traditional grape variety such as white Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Colombard, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, Merlot, Tannat and Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon
At Les Hauts de Montrouge, every wine is unique and represents the true potential of Gascony. The environment friendly wine growers turned to responsible agriculture a long time ago. Grapes are harvested only once maturity is at its best; the grape picker work early morning or late evening when temperatures are lower, to keep the grape fresh. The harvest is promptly brought to the cellar where it is pressed in the latest pneumatic powered winepress.
